I repurposed this busted Alessi citrus basket into a lamp shade.

It casts pretty cool shadows. The base is from another lamp with a boring fabric shade. I kind of had to ghetto-rig it to the new one but there you have it. 

I was looking for one of those half-chromed round lightbulbs but found this cool hexagon-shaped bulb at the hardware store and that was that.

Going to lighting supply stores makes me want to design lighting fixtures. Going to hardware stores in general makes me want to be a maker of things.
